Arsenal will complete deal for Neto this evening
Arsenal are to complete a deal to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on loan until the end of the season after failing to reach an agreement to secure a deal for Espanyol goalie Joan Garcia. After the sale of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton, the Gunners had been looking for a new backup to David Raya and have now decided on Neto.
The Brazilian 35-year-old shotstopper arrived at Bournemouth from Barcelona in 2022, and forced his way into the Cherries' starting XI over the last two Premier League campaigns. The former Fiorentina, Juventus and Valencia star will now make his move to Arsenal a reality, as he becomes the Gunners' new number 2.
David Raya has hugely impressed since replacing Aaron Ramsdale in between the sticks at the Emirates, and is widely expected to become Arsenal's number 1 for the next few seasons. In signing Neto, this will only be for the short term and the Gunners will likely make another move for Espanyol keeper Garcia next summer, should the player be available for sale.
