Chelsea eyeing surprise deal to sign 24yo PL star

Chelsea are considering a surprise approach to re-sign defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace during the ongoing transfer window.

The England international left the Blues from the Eagles three years ago and he has firmly established himself as one of their best players.

The 24-year-old was the subject of multiple bids from Newcastle United last summer, but none of those were close to the £70m price tag.

Sky Sports now claim that the Blues have entered the pursuit of his services and they are exploring a possible deal in the current window.

Guehi has 18 months left on his contract with the south London outfit and he has no plans of extending with fresh terms at the moment.

Palace could open the door for his mid-season sale. Chelsea could sign him for a lesser fee as they have a 20 percent sell-on clause.

Guehi's arrival would provide a much-needed boost for the Blues, who are without the injured Wesley Fofana for the entire season.
