Arsenal will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host arch-rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup third round today.

The Gunners suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Newcastle United in the first leg of the Carabao Cup tie at the Emirates in midweek.

They had better chances to score, but were unable to capitalise. Mikel Arteta will want his team to make amends against United.

The backine could witness one change. It could be a straight swap at left-back with Riccardo Calafiori coming in for Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Thomas Partey could be given a breather due to his injury record. Mikel Merino could be reinstated into the starting XI instead of the Ghanaian.

Leandro Trossard had a poor outing against the Magpies with no shots on target. He had a similarly woeful display at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Belgian could be dropped to the bench. Gabriel Jesus could start on the right wing to compensate for the injured Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri.
