Chelsea defender unlikely to leave before deadline

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is unlikely to head for the exit door before the transfer window closes next week, according to Daily Mail.

The England international has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Enzo Maresca, and he has made just one appearance this term.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a loan exit for the past few weeks, but there are no proposals on the table at the present point of time.

Chilwell is resigned to staying with the Blues for the remainder of the campaign despite the fact that he won't be playing anymore.

Blues midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is facing a similar situation. Everton have been linked, but they are reluctant to discuss a permanent move.

Chelsea are prepared to loan him out with an obligation to buy for £40 million, but there are no suitors willing to meet their demands.

While the duo are likely to stay, midfielder Cesare Casadei is expected to leave. He has several offers on the table for a permanent exit.
