Arsenal make formal bid for 26-year-old striker after agent talk
Arsenal have made a formal bid to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres after negotiating with his agent, according to Correio da Manha.
The Gunners are expected to land a marquee striker during the summer transfer window and Gyokeres is one of the top names on their radar.
It is now reported that Arsenal officials were spotted in Lisbon this week, where there was a meeting held with the striker's representative.
The club have followed up with a formal €70 million bid for the 26-year-old and negotiations are ongoing over the payment structure.
Gyokeres has already been granted permission to pursue a new challenge and he could sort out his future at the beginning of next month.
The Swede has been in the form of his life this campaign. He has netted 54 goals and provided 13 assists from just 52 appearances for Sporting CP.
He is ready for the next step in his playing career. Gyokeres is eager to move to the Premier League where he was previously with Brighton.
