German star to undergo Liverpool medical on Friday
Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is set to undergo his medical with Liverpool this week, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League champions recently reached an agreement to land Wirtz from Leverkusen. They will pay an initial £100 million plus an additional £16 million in the form of add-ons.
The German is presently on vacation. He is expected to arrive on Merseyside on Thursday before undergoing his medical tests on Friday.
A formal announcement over his transfer could be made over the weekend.
Wirtz is set to become Liverpool's most expensive recruit and he will have a point to prove with the huge outlay made for his services.
Liverpool are expected to continue their spending spree with the purchase of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in the next few days.
They could also enter the transfer market for a new winger and reports claim that Newcastle star Anthony Gordon could be pursued.
Gordon could cost a staggering fee of around £100m.
