Arsenal hold talks with Ollie Watkins' agent
Arsenal have held talks with the representative of Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, according to Record in Portugal.
The Gunners are determined to sign a new striker this summer. They have been particularly linked with two high-profile names.
Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are the top targets for the club, but both are expected to cost at least £68 million.
Arsenal have no plans of paying such a fee for Gyokeres while they are hoping to receive a discount for Sesko.
Amidst this, Record claim that Watkins is another name on their radar and the Gunners could revive their former interest.
Arsenal failed with a move for the Englishman last winter. Villa turned down a package of £40 million for the striker.
However, Villa could be persuaded to accept a similar proposal this time after their failure to make the Champions League.
Villa need to balance their financial books with a big-money sale and could be tempted to cash in on Watkins this summer.
Watkins had another fine campaign with Unai Emery's side. He registered 17 goals and provided 14 assists last season.
