Arsenal ready to pay £70m to land Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal are prepared to pay around £70 million to purchase RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, according to The Sun.
The Gunners are determined to land a marquee striker this summer and they have identified Sesko as the prime target to fill the void.
Manager Mikel Arteta has given the green light for the transfer, and the Gunners are willing to meet the reported asking price for him.
However, there is still a huge stumbling block with Sesko's camp reportedly demanding a salary much higher that what Arsenal plan to pay.
This has reportedly put the potential deal in jeopardy. It could force a change in direction for the Gunners unless the demands are lowered.
Arsenal have earmarked Gyokeres as the alternative striker target, and they may not have any difficulty in negotiating terms with the Swede.
The 27-year-old is eager to join the Gunners this summer and has already turned down an approach from Manchester United for his services.
