Man City in talks with Hughes

Manchester City is looking for a new boss, and has declared interest in the Blackburn Rovers boss, Mark Hughes. The Rovers have confirmed talks with City regarding Hughes

Mark Hughes is the man wanted in the City of Manchester, to drive the club to new heights. The hunt for the new manager became official after the sacking of the former boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Manchester City FC official website reports that the club is interested in signing Hughes and has officially approached Rovers for permission to talk to him.

Mark Hughes has made it clear to the Blackburn Board that he would like the opportunity to talk to Man City. The club's official website reports that the board have decided reluctantly to give permission subject to the terms and conditions acceptable by both the clubs.

The latest reports suggest that Hughes will be revealed as the manager of Man City, and he will take his backroom staff with him. The list of his faithful includes Mark Bowen - his assistant, Eddie Niedzwiecki and Kevin Hitchcook - former Chelsea goalkeepers.

The City executive chairman Garry Cook, has high hopes in signing Hughes, and all that remains is to agree on a buy-out with Blackburn and the decision could be made in forty-eight hours.

The appointment of Hughes might show dramatic twists, as hot young prospect Micah Richards pledged to stay. The highly rated defender and skipper Richard Dunne may also stay with City now.

The chief executive, Cook is also looking forward to build the team on quality youngsters and does not want to sell the best players.

Hughes will be looking forward to lead City into the UEFA cup and challenging for a top six finish in the league.
