Chelsea eyeing move for Adam Wharton

Chelsea have their sights on landing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton amid speculation that Enzo Fernandez could leave for Real Madrid.

The Blues recently sanctioned the sale of left-back Marc Cucurella to Madrid, and there is a possibility that Fernandez could move the same way.

Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the former Benfica man and has already given the green light for Los Blancos to sign him.

Amidst this, the Blues have begun their search for a replacement, and reports claim that talks are underway with Wharton's representatives.

Wharton is open to a new challenge away from the Eagles, but he won't come on the cheap after the club's qualification for the Europa League.

Palace are aware of the premium price tags on midfielders this summer, and they could hold out for at least £100 million to offload the Englishman.

Chelsea should be able to afford him with Fernandez likely to leave for a similar sum. The Blues want around £120 million for the Argentine.
