Owen picks up groin injury
Michael Owen's injury nightmare continued as he picked up a recurrence of a groin injury during Newcastle's 2-1 defeat of West Ham at St. James Park.
Newcastle United striker Michael Owen failed to last the full duration for his second consecutive match as he was taken off early into the second half against West Ham United at St James Park on Sunday.
The 27-year-old England international was taken off five minutes into the second half with the same groin problem that saw the former Liverpool and Real Madrid man come off in Mondays nights defeat at Derby County.
The Toon medical staff have said that the striker was taken off as a precautionary measure.
