Spurs chase Steve Harper?

Tottenham are apparently interested in signing Newcastle's number 2 striker Steve Harper. The player would be allowed to leave the Toon for a figure in the region of 1 million GBP.

Harper has found his first-team opportunities limited at St James' Park of late, due to the impressive form of Shay Given.

Joe Kinnear could be willing to sell Steve Harper as he looks to generate funds for his own January transfer window activity.

Kinnear already has Tim Krul waiting in the wings and the Dutch keeper is believed to have a bright future ahead of him.
