Wenger not looking for Cazorla replacement
Wenger not looking for Cazorla replacement
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will not look for midfield cover despite a long-term injury to Santi Cazorla
The Spain international recently underwent a surgery on an Achilles problem after the inflammation failed to ease over the past month.
In Friday's pre-match press conference, Wenger admitted that Cazorla's injury is 'very bad news', but his side have plenty of options to occupy the centre of the park.
"In midfield we have many players, but there's two reasons (for not buying a replacement). We have the numbers in quality. Secondly, in January, you wouldn't necessarily find a Cazorla even if you wanted to," the Frenchman told told reporters.
Apart from Cazorla, Mathieu Debuchy will also spend six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury against Bournemouth last weekend.
