Rooney could be recalled to the starting lineup for Stoke clash

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways following a 1-1 draw against Liverpool last weekend. The Red Devils make the visit to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City, who held them to a similar scoreline in the reverse fixture.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Lineup:

GK David de Gea:

The Spain has been the regular between the sticks for United, and he is a definite starter for the game.

RB Antonio Valencia:

The Ecuadorian will be buoyed by his contract extension earlier in the week, and will no doubt want to maintain his form for the campaign.

CB Phil Jones &Marcus Rojo

The centre-back of Jones and Rojo have been inseparable in recent months. The duo have formed an excellent partnership in the heart of the defence, and this has kept Chris Smalling warming the substitutes' bench.

LB Matteo Darmian

The Italy international has been preferred for the left-back position and will do doubt stake a claim for yet another league start.

CM Michael Carrick & Ander Herrera

Veteran star Carrick struggled to keep up his levels against Roberto Firmino last week and was therefore substituted at half-time. He will get another chance alongside Ander Herrera, who has been the Mr.Dependable in midfield.

AML Wayne Rooney

Anthony Martial is likely to be benched for Wayne Rooney to take field on the left side of the attack. The England international will seek to become the club's all-time goal-scorer having already matched Sir Bobby Charlton's tally of 249 goals.

AMR  Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The Armenian Player of the Year has not scored since his sublime scorpion kick against Sunderland on Boxing Day. Nevertheless, he remains a key component of a United side, which aim to challenge for a top-four position this season.

AMC Paul Pogba

Pogba had a night to forget against Liverpool. He conceded a reckless penalty which led to the only Reds goal whilst also missing out key chances to score. The Frenchman will be determined to put up a commanding figure in the number '10' position on Saturday.

CF Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The experienced Swede has gone from strength to strength this season. The 35-year-old has failed to contribute an assist/goal in just one of the last 10 outings, and this shows his importance to the side.
