Everton to move for Rangers defender
Rangers full-back Nathan Patterson is on the verge of a £10 million transfer move to struggling Premier League outfit Everton. The Toffees hope to wrap up the deal in time for their next game.
20-years-old right-back Patterson forced his way in to the Rangers first team in 2020 and has gone from strength to strength, particularly under former manager Steven Gerrard. The Glasgow-born defender has already appeared for his country six times, scoring one goal, and his recent good form has caught the eye of some of Europe's top sides. RB Leipzig reportedly contacted Rangers regarding Patterson's availability but were unable to agree a fee.
Desperate times at Goodison Park has seen manager Rafa Benitez explore all options on the transfer market as a disappointed fan base continue to make their feelings known. A defeat to Brighton in the Premier League yesterday further added to Benitez's woes.
Everton are expected to spend up to £90 million this January transfer window, having already landed Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dinamo Kiev in a deal worth approximately £17.5 million.
