  • Club representatives are busy trying to mend a strained relationship with Lille and thrash out a fee with the club for the Belgian international midfielder, considered by may to be the best young player in Europe.

Arsenal's pursuit of Park Chu Young disappointed Lille, who had already been discussing personal terms with the South Korean when he decided to cancel his medical, then fly to London to talk to the Gunners.

The Lille chairman was not happy with Arsenal after they seemingly won the race for the striker.

We understand that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told his representatives to do everything possible to land the midfielder prior to the transfer window closing on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners have reportedly made an offer of 16m GBP and a further 4m GBP depending on Arsenal success over the next three seasons; but Lille are refusing to budge on their stance that Hazard will be staying put at the Ligue 1 champions.

However, Arsenal believe that they can win the race to sign the player, and are confident of wrapping up a deal before the transfer window is closed.
