Arsenal to make surprise bid for Real Madrid star Kaka?

31 August 2013 - 05:29

Arsenal have been linked with a shock move for Real Madrid's wantaway forward Kaka, with the Gunners set to pay a staggering £18 million for the 31-year-old Brazilian. A report from Spain and the Daily Mirror suggests that Arsene Wenger will agree terms with the player on transfer deadline day.

  • With the imminent arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid, Kaka will now slip even further down the order of striking options available for manager Carlo Ancelotti. Kaka has been told that he is free to leave the club if a team is able to match their valuation.

Arsenal have watched their bitter rivals Tottenham secure the triple capture of Vlad, Chiriches, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen leaving the Gunners desperately short on options and looking defeated in the transfer market. Arsene Wenger is confident that a move for Kaka will ensure Arsenal fans will be delighted with this summer's business, having already signed Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini on free transfers.

Earlier in the week, Kaka told Real Madrid that he wants to leave before the transfer window closes in search of regular first team football. Kaka's former club AC Milan were the favourites for his signature, but yesterday ruled themselves out of the race for the Brazilian. It is understood that now just Arsenal are in the running and are hoping to discuss personal terms with the player next week.
