Is NGolo Kante heading to Arsenal?

Do Arsenal really need Kante?

Is N'Golo Kante heading to Arsenal?

28 May 2016 - 06:59

France international N'Golo Kante has been linked with a potential move to the Emirates with Leicester City seemingly close to wrapping up a deal for Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 25-year-old looks to have stated his intention to leave the King Power Stadium over the summer after he snubbed a contract extension despite the Foxes' unprecedented and historic league triumph last season.

Widespread sources have suggested that the Malian-born midfielder could be plying his trade with the Gunners next season, but the question arises as to how he would fit in given the club's recent purchase of Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka, formerly the captain of Borussia Monchengladbach. would have to play alongside Laurent Koscielny in central defence given his adaptability, and this could open up a space in central midfield with Mohamed Elneny likely to get the call for the holding position.

However, Arsene Wenger's side do have the likes of Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin and the ever-impressive Santi Cazorla to depend on, and this brings forth the fact that any approach for Kante could see the departure of one of the trio stated.

Do Arsenal really need a Kante to spur a title challenge, or is the current midfield clique sufficient? Comments your views below....
