  • The Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Hector Bellerin’s future remains at the Emirates, despite reported interest from Manchester City and FC Barcelona.

The Frenchman has hinted that Bellerin will soon receive a new and improved contract to tie his future down with the Gunners.

The Spanish international defender joined Arsenal in his teens after being a part of Barcelona’s famous La Masia youth academy.

He has gone on to develop into arguably the best right back in the Premier League and is now attracting interest from rival clubs.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is keen to improve his full back options at the Etihad, and will be backed with a substantial transfer kitty in order to do so. The Catalan coach has supposedly identified Bellerin as his primary target.

Barcelona parted ways with legendary defender Dani Alves in the summer, with the Brazilian veteran joining Juventus on a free transfer. The La Liga champions elected not to sign a replacement during the transfer window, and have instead been playing midfielder Sergi Roberto on the right side of defence.

But Barca are reportedly keen to re-sign Bellerin, although the potential cost of the transfer could be a road block to any deal.
