West Ham make offer for Kelechi Iheanacho

29 May 2017 - 05:18

West Ham United have made an attempt to sign unsettled Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho during this summer's transfer window.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Nigeria international barely featured under Pep Guardiola in the second half of the season with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus being preferred for the centre-forward role.

As a result, speculation over his future has intensified in recent weeks with Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim among others keen on his signature.

According to Sky Sports News, Slaven Bilic's side have jumped ahead of the queue to sign the highly-rated prospect after having made a formal approach for his signature.

The source does not reveal that the true value of the offer, but it is suggested that City could hold onto a £20m sum in order to let go of their young striker.

Bilic is eager to add a few quality players to his squad ahead of next season following a disappointing first campaign at the London Stadium, where they finished 11th in the league.

Iheanacho could potentially become West Ham's second signing of the summer following their agreement to sign Pablo Zabaleta from Manchester City on a Bosman this summer.
