Liverpool lining up approach for So'ton midfielder

Liverpool are reportedly hoping to trigger the release clause of Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic in the summer transfer window.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?
  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Serbia international currently has a £13m escape clause in his present deal, and it is suggested that he could favour a move to Merseyside ahead of next season.

According to The Times, Reds bos Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a move for Tadic after being priced out of deals for both Mohamed Salah and Gelson Martins.

Liverpool received a warning from the South Coast outfit over an illegal approach for defender Virgil van Dijk, and they have officially ended their pursuit with fresh interest in Tadic.

Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Sadio Mane are some of the big names who have switched between the clubs in recent seasons, and the Reds have hugely benefited from this after having clinched Champions League qualification.

Tadic had to adapt to a more central midfield role under Claude Puel last season with Southampton seeking to cover for the presence of ex-player Victor Wanyama, who joined Tottenham Hotspur.

The Serbia international has bagged 17 goals and 31 assists during his three-year stint with Southampton, who are more or less deemed a selling club.
