Chelsea Injury Update: Chelsea vs Manchester City

28 September 2017 - 19:02

Reigning English champions Chelsea take on Manchester City in a much-anticipated Premier League game on Saturday. Antonio Conte's side lost out to Burnley in the curtain raiser, but they have since won all their matches, other than the 0-0 draw against London rivals Arsenal.

  • Injury News:

Earlier this month, Conte confirmed (via BBC Sport) that Danny Drinkwater had suffered a recurrence of his calf problem, and he is likely to remain out of action until after the international break.

Pedro made the bench for the Atleti game despite carrying a minor knock, and he could potentially retain his spot in the starting lineup, should one of Cesc Fabregas or Tiemoue Bakayoko be benched.

David Luiz suffered a wrist injury during the goalless London derby against Arsenal, and he was captured wearing a splint during the Blues' 2-1 Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid.

He is, however, expected to miss the Citizens' outing due to suspension after he received a three-match ban for a potentially leg-breaking tackle on Arsenal's Sead Kolasinac.
