Eden Hazard in shock England return with Arsenal?

10 January 2023 - 10:57

Arsenal's failed efforts to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk means that the club have switched their attentions to signing Eden Hazard from Real Madrid on a loan transfer. It is understood that the Gunners have been unable to agree a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk for Mudryk, attempted a last ditch offer to sign Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid, but the player has opted to join Chelsea, and now the Emirates Stadium out fit will swoop for Eden Hazard on a six month deal.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Eden Hazard hasn't lived up to expectations at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium since his arrival from Chelsea, and now could be set for a shock return to London with Arsenal. The Gunners want to bring in at least two new faces during the January transfer window, with concerns over long-term absentee Gabriel Jesus and a lack of backup in the attacking department. Indeed, Eddie Nketiah has performed very well since taking the starting berth in the first team, with five goals in six games, but Mikel Arteta wants to add some competition for places to his squad while the opportunity is still available. The returning Emile Smith-Rowe also offers useful cover during a busy period.

Eden Hazard has two and a half years remaining on his deal in La Liga, but wants to leave Real Madrid early if at all possible. Arsenal will apparently pay the entirety of his 275,000 euro per week salary with a move to North London.
