Preview: WBA vs Liverpool

All eyes will be on Roy Hodgson as he hosts former club Liverpool at the Hawthorns for Saturday's late afternoon kick off. Kenny Dalglish still has his eyes on Premier League success this year, but needs three points today.

Liverpool travel to West Bromwich on the back of a morale boosting win over Stoke last weekend; much needed after the two straight draws prior to that game.

Kenny Dalglish said of this weekend's match: “We have to do a bit of homework on them before we play them but the most important people are ourselves,” Dalglish said.

“There’s no point in us being any different to what we are. Everyone here is here for a reason and the reason is the way they play football so we’ve got to play to our strengths first and foremost."

Last year this game was won 2-1 by WBA, with both goals coming from Chris Brunt from the penalty spot. Dalglish will be hoping that the story is different this year, and continue their slow push to the summit of the Premier League.

West Brom on the other hand, currently lie in 11th place in the Premier League and are unbeaten in their last four games.

This game is sure to be an interesting one for the neutral today.

FORM

West Brom are unbeaten in four in the Premier League, whilst Liverpool recorded a win over Stoke last weekend on the back of two straight draws.

West Brom beat city rivals Aston Villa and Wolves in their last two games, and are in high spirits.

TEAMS

Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique and Stewart Downing were all rested for Carling Cup duty in midweek, but are expected to be back in the team today. Luis Suarez, on the other hand, could miss out after he picked up a knock in last weekend's match against Stoke City.

West Bromwich Albion will be missing Shane Long, who is expected to be on the sidelines for around two months after sustaining injury against Aston Villa.
