Liverpool Confirm Deal For Iago Aspas
Liverpool have finalised their much awaited deal with Spaniard, Iago Aspas. The 25 year old plays for Celta de Vigo as a forward.
Liverpool FC have agreed a deal in principle to sign Aspas on the 13th of June 2013, subject to completion of documentation. This transfer is believed to cost about 7.7 million pounds to the club. Aspas scored 12 goals in 34 games last season and helped his club avert the danger of a Primera Division relegation.
After having brought Man City's centre-back Kolo Toure on a free transfer, Aspas would become only the second signing for club manager Brendan Rodgers. A club statement said, "Aspas can play through the middle or out wide and he could become Brendon Rodgers' second signing of the summer transfer window following a deal for Kolo Toure."
Aspas also looks to bring in Sporting Lisbon's defender Tiago Ilori and he has also been linked with Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Liverpool also plans to compensate for the prospective defrayment by selling club's striker Andy Carroll to West Ham.
