Chelsea in talks to sign Robert Lewandowski
Mourinho has been keen this summer to add more options to his strike force. Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for his signature.
Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks to bring in Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski in a £24million deal.
The new Blues manager Jose Mourinho has gone all out to find a replacement for the current faltering strike pair of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba.
Torres has had a great drop in form since his spectacular move from Liverpool for a club record £50million in 2011. Though Roman Abramovich has had faith on his expensive acquisition, it does appear now that he has finally lost his patience with the Spanish International who is linked with several clubs in Italy and Spain.
Meanwhile, Ba has only been at the club since his January transfer move from The Magpies but has failed to reproduce his goal scoring form that saw him become one of the best strikers in the Premier League. The Senegalese international is now on the fringes of the first team and is linked with a loan move to the West ham United.
Mourinho’s effort to sign the Uruguayan goal machine Edinson Cavani has stalled for the moment.
After missing on Radamel Falcao to As Monaco , Chelsea’s main target has now shifted to Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has made it clear to Borussia Dortmund that he wants a move but the polish striker has so far been denied a move to arch rivals Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are also keen on the player but The Blues look the likely to acquire his signature.
