Liverpool open talks with Guilherme Siqueira
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Brazilian left back Guilherme Siqueira. Everton were in pole position to sign the Granada defender but Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful a deal can be agreed to sign Siqueira as backup for Luis Enrique.
Siqueira has had an impressive time at Granada since arriving there from Udinese back in 2011, going on to score 12 league goals in 70 games; an impressive rate of return for a defender.
Whist the defender has yet to represent his home country of Brazil, he already holds an Italian passport giving him the EU residency that allows him to move to England without applying for a work permit.
It is understood that Granada have set the asking price at approximately 7 million Euros.
