Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hints at major spending spree
Having watched Arsenal slump to a 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa, Arsenal fans demanded that manager Arsene Wenger spend money on new players. The Gunners manager confirmed that Arsenal would be active in the transfer window until it closes at the end of August.
Arsenal have seemingly missed out on Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, but Wenger is confident that new faces will be brought in at the Emirates before then.
"We take our work seriously and believe me, we analyse every single player in the world," said Wenger.
"We work 24 hours a day for that. When we make decisions, we take it seriously.
"People try to think we do not want to spend. We want to. We are ready to buy players."
