Liverpool to make January transfer bid for Javier Pastore

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign Paris St Germain's unsettled attacking midfielder Javier Pastore once the transfer window reopens in January. The Argentine international has told his colleagues that he is looking to leave France and would prefer a transfer back to Italy or to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old former Palermo man joined the French champions back in 2011 and has impressed with a number of spirited showings at the heart of PSG's attack. However, after two years it is understood that the player has grown frustrated with life under manager Laurent Blanc and will seek pastures new.

Pastore's agent confirmed that the player is currently seeking a transfer away.

"In football there are always ups and downs," quipped Marcelo Simonian.

"He has been happy there, but now is not the time for nostalgia. We will see what happens in the next few months."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is now on red alert after hearing of Pastore's situation and has already established a relationship with PSG directors after completing the signing of Mamadou Sakho. The Anfield side will have to pay around 25 million Euros for Pastore.
