Man Utd want Barca defender

Manchester United are reportedly set to make a shock move for one of the best defenders in the Spanish national setup.

Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba is currently considered as top target for new boss Louis Van Gaal.

The talented defender was constantly linked with a switch to Old Trafford during his time with Valencia, and Spanish newspaper AS claims that the Catalan giants could let go of the talented 25-year-old, should a big-money offer be made for his services.

United are keen on signing up a new left-back as they aim to find a long-term replacement to Patrice Evra.
