Micah Richards to join Newcastle?

Should Mathieu Debuchy complete a move to Arsenal, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is rumoured to have decided that Man City's out of favour defender Micah Richards would be his preferred target.

Richards, who has struggled to force his way into Man City's first team on a regular basis in recent years due to the impressive form of Pablo Zabaleta, has now decided that he needs to leave the Etihad Stadium in order to find first team football.

With Debuchy apparently on his way to Arsenal, Richards appears to be the preferred target of the Magpies and Pardew has already received full backing from club owner Mike Ashley with regards to a move for the player.

Arsenal were rumoured to also be in the race for Micah Richards.
