Arsenal to seal bargain deal for Hammers star

Arsenal are believed to be readying a January offer for West Ham United defender Winston Reid, The Mail reports.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on signing a central defender in the upcoming transfer window, with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker being the only reliable options at the club.

According to The Mail, the North London outfit are ready to lodge a £4m offer for the New Zealand international in the New Year.

The report adds that the Hammers may allow Reid's exit in January considering the fact that his existing contract expires at the end of the season.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League.
