Rafa Benitez favourite for Man City job

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is considered as the leading contender to take the managerial post at City, should the club's owners decided to sack Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.

Pellegrini had an excellent first season at the Etihad as the club won the Premier League as well as the League Cup.

However, this season has been the exact opposite, with City five points adrift of Chelsea, who have two games in hand over them.

According to The Star, City face a tough task retaining the league title, and the failure to further their Champions League campaign conclude Pellegrini's reign at the club.
