Southampton to sign Petr Cech on loan?

Southampton will reportedly try to sign up out-of-favour Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech on an emergency loan.

The Saints could be without Fraser Forster for some time having injured his knee during the club's 2-0 win over Burnley last month.

Veteran shot-stopper Kelvin Davies has since then taken over the number one spot, but Tuttomercato claims that Saints boss Ronald Koeman will seek to bring the Czech international next month on an emergency loan.

However, it is unclear whether Blues manager Jose Mourinho would sanction the move.

Cech has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge next season in search of regular first-team football.
