Arsenal track Porto's Danilo

Arsenal are monitoring the performances of Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira ahead of a summer move for his signature. The 24-year-old had been linked with a potential switch to the Emirates in January, but a deal never materialised.

The Gunners are expected to make a move for new holding midfield this summer following the inconsistency shown by Francis Coquelin in recent months.

According to The Mail, Gunners scout Luis Boa Morte was in attendance to watch Danilo in action for Porto against Tondela earlier this week.

It is added that Danilo is the prime target for the Gunners boss as he aims to add more steel to his midfield ahead of the next campaign.

Veteran midfielders Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta have been tipped to bow out of Arsenal once their contracts expire at the end of the season.
