Big Interest in Gianluca Lapadula

Tottenham are interested in the £8million rated Pescara forward Gianluca Lapadula after watching the Italian net another sensational goal against one of his former clubs Cesena this weekend.

Spurs scouts, as well as Barca’s head of recruitment Ariedo Braida, were at the Stadio Adriatico - Giovanni Cornacchia to watch the 26-year-old who is certain to leave if Pescara can’t achieve promotion to Serie A this season.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add attacking options at White Hart Lane with Harry Kane his only recognized forward and the Argentinian has been lucky that Kane hasn’t missed many games and exposed that lack of support.

Premier League Champions elect Leicester City and Serie A leaders Juventus are some of the other sides who are said to have an interest in Lapadula, who has netted 22 times this season for the Serie B club known as the Dolphins.

The Turin-born forward has an interesting back story having failed to make the grade with Parma and has had more clubs than Tiger Woods, eleven so far, seven of those on loan.

Last season Lapadula was part of the Teramo side that won Italy’s third-tier Lega Pro scoring 21 goals, only to have their title stripped in a match fixing scandal.

Lapadula has made the step up to the second tier look easy and, whether with Pescara or with someone else, he will be playing top-flight football next season for the first time in his career and perhaps in the Premier League.
