West Ham explore Benteke deal
West Ham United will make a formal approach for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke ahead of the summer transfer window. The Belgian international has had a tough time under Jurgen Klopp and this has led to claims that he could seek a fresh move at the end of the season.
Benteke joined the Reds from Aston Villa last summer and many expected him to run the team in the attack front. However, he failed to adapt to the club's style of play and this dried up his goal count.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has rarely utilised the services of Benteke in recent months, and according to The Mirror, the Hammers could seek to lure the 25-year-old on a long-term contract this summer.
Slaven Bilic's team are willing to cough up a sum of at least £20m to bring the marksman to their new Olympic Stadium.
Benteke has started in just 13 league games for Liverpool this term.
