Spurs close in on Lyon star Lacazette

Spurs are said to be in pole position to sign France forward Alexandre Lacazette from French club Lyon this summer for a fee thought to be in the region of £30million.
Mauricio Pochettino and Paul Mitchell have been watching the 24 year-old, who scored 23 goals this year for the Ligue 1 runners up and he has impressed enough for the Argentinian to ask Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy to open up the cheque book.
Spurs are looking for cover upfront with Harry Kane the only recognised front man at the lane and Poch sees the Lyon born forward as an ideal signing for the North London club as he is versatile enough to play up front, centrally or wide in the three behind Kane.
Spurs did business with Lyon last summer when they signed Clinton N'Jie and previously 2012 when they signed the French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris so there is a dialogue between the clubs.
Lacazette is very much a Pochettino Spurs signing and by that i mean young, athletic, quick and at 24 has potential sell on value if he progresses as expected and the Ligue 1 top goalscorer in 2014-15 is said to favour Tottenham over a move elsewhere.
West Ham had a large bid rejected by Lyon, the reason is thought to be because the majority of the transfer was installment based and Lyon wanted a large part as cash up front.
