Michael Carrick assured of Man Utd stay
England international Michael Carrick is set to pen a one-year extension at Manchester United as he is confident of cementing a regular role under new boss Jose Mourinho.
The 35-year-old has been a key performer for the Red Devils since his move from Tottenham Hotspur nearly a decade ago.
It had been recently claimed that the veteran midfielder could find himself a fresh challenge in the top flight with interest high from the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Stoke City.
However, according to The Sun, the player has had a change of mind and looks set to ink a one-year deal to continue his association with the Old Trafford outfit.
Carrick has made over 400 appearances for the Mancunian giants in all competitions.
