PSG plot Coutinho bid

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a formal approach for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho. The Brazil international was the centre of attention in the Reds revival under Jurgen Klopp last term.

Coutinho, 23, has developed his game season by season and he is currently among the top midfielders plying his trade in the English league.

French publication Le 10 Sport claims that Les Parisiens have switched their focus to the Reds attacker after it became clear that top target Eden Hazard will not be leaving Chelsea over the summer.

Laurent Blanc's side are willing to part a sum of around £45m to land the player's services in the transfer window.

Meanwhile, Coutinho is believed to have rebuffed claims while speaking to a reporter in Los Angeles, USA.
