Besiktas clear to sign Martin Skrtel

Besiktas are apparently leading the queue to land unsettled Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel this summer. The Slovakian struggled to earn sufficient playing time under Jurgen Klopp last season.

Skrtel has had a difficult spell at the Merseyside outfit with Jurgen Klopp opting to play the likes of Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and veteran Kolo Toure ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Sun says the Turkish champions are looking to add the centre-back to their squad after they sealed automatic qualification to next season's Champions League.
