Celtic in talks for Liverpool full-back

Scottish champions Celtic are looking to start off their transfer business with a move for Liverpool full-back Andre Wisdom. The 23-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan with relegated Norwich City.

The Hoops are currently managed by Brendan Rodgers, who had a fruitful spell at the Reds guiding them to a runners-up finish during the 2013/14 season.

According to The Mail, Wisdom was the player involved in discussions between the clubs over the weekend, and a £3m deal is likely to go through in the summer transfer window.

Rodgers' side were initially interested in Joe Gomez before the Reds' reluctance made them move for the out-of-favour Wisdom.

The young defender, who made his debut under Rodgers in 2012, has the potential to play across the defence.
