Does Mourinho want these to Real Madrid players to join him at Old Trafford?

Manchester United could be on the verge of making a sensational double swoop for Real Madrid stars Raphael Varane and Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain today.

El Confidencial claim that French defender Varane could be set for a move to the Premier League this summer, with his path to regular first-team football blocked by Sergio Ramos and Pepe, and that new United boss José Mourinho is "a big fan" of the player.

The 23-year-old centre-back signed for Madrid from Lens back in 2011 when Mourinho was in charge at the Bernabéu.

It is thought that Mourinho has remained an admirer of Varane, and would be extremely interested in bringing the France international to Old Trafford if Madrid are willing to consider selling the player this summer.

El Confidencial also claim that Mourinho wants to bring Morata to United.

The 23-year-old striker has spent the last two seasons in Serie A, having left Madrid to join Juventus. But Madrid have decided to exercise the €30 million buy-back clause that they hold on the young forward.

It is thought that Madrid are only re-signing Morata in order to sell him on to a Premier League club for a hefty profit this summer. Los Blancos will expect to fetch at least €60 million for Morata, as they look to fund a big-money move for Paul Pogba.
