Could Draxler be the next incoming at Old Trafford?

Speculation over whether Manchester United are set to make a move for Julian Draxler has gathered pace today, with bookmakers in Germany slashing their odds on the potential switch over night.

Due to a raft of money placed on Draxler signing for United, bwin have slashed their odds on the possible transfer from 11-1 down to 3-1, sparking rumours that the Old Trafford club are poised to swoop for the VfL Wolfsburg player.

Draxler only joined Wolfsburg last summer in a €30 million move from Schalke 04, so it would take a substantial offer from United to convince the German club to part ways with the talented 22-year-old.

But with moves for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and veteran Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic widely reported to be close to completion, it appears new United manager José Mourinho has set his sights on further additions.

Reports in the Spanish press this morning have linked United with moves for Real Madrid pair Raphael Varane and Alvaro Morata, while Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is believed to be top of Mourinho's wish-list.

And it now appears that Draxler could be the latest player to attract the attention of United, as Mourinho looks to re-shape the squad he inherited from Louis van Gaal.

Draxler is currently on international duty with Germany at Euro 2016, where he put in a man of the match performance against Slovakia in the first knockout round, so any potential transfer will likely have to wait until his participation in the tournament is over.
