Man Utd prepare €120m Pogba bid

Paul Pogba news

Man Utd are lining up an eye-watering offer for Pogba

Manchester United manager José Mourinho is set to sanction a bid of €120 million for Paul Pogba, according to reports in Italy.

Italian daily La Stampa claims that Mourinho is ready to authorise a mammoth €120 million offer for Juventus midfielder Pogba, as he continues to reshape the squad he inherited from Louis van Gaal.

United have already secured the signings of Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's switch from Borussia Dortmund set to be finalised in the next 48 hours.

And at his first press conference as United manager yesterday, Mourinho confirmed that the club are working hard to bring in a fourth major signing, believed to be Pogba.

Real Madrid are thought to hold an interest in the 23-year-old midfielder too, but it has been reported that last season's Champions League winners are unwilling to break the €80 million barrier to sign the player.

Which means that United lead the race for Pogba's signature, but they will have to convince Juventus to part ways with their star man, hence the enormous offer.

United are also rumoured to be lining up a move for Pogba's international team mate Blaise Matuidi. The pair are both clients of super agent Mino Raiola, who has already brokered Old Trafford moves for Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan this summer.

With Pogba currently on international duty with France at Euro 2016, any potential deal will likely have to wait until the home nation's campaign is over.
