Man City agree €32m fee for Gabriel Jesus

Could City be set to sign Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus?

Manchester City are set to swoop for teenage Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus, having agreed a fee with the player's club, according to reports in Brazil.

It has been claimed in the Brazilian media that 19-year-old forward Gabriel Jesus is set for a switch to the Premier League, after Man City have agreed a €32 million fee with Palmeiras.

The teenager is the latest sensation to come out of Brazil and has attracted strong interest from Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Despite his tender years, Gabriel is an under-23 international for Brazil, with three goals from his four appearances at that level.

The speedy youngster is able to play on the right wing or centrally as a striker, so if City do indeed pull of his signing, it would bring question marks over what role Raheem Sterling would play next season, particularly if the Citizens continue to pursue 20-year-old Schalke winger Leroy Sané.

New City manager Pep Guardiola has already been active in the transfer market this summer, as he looks to bolster the squad he inherited from Manuel Pellegrini.

German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been brought in from Borussia Dortmund, teenage attacking midfielder Alexandr Zinchenko has been signed from FC Ufa, and Spanish winger Nolito has come in from Celta de Vigo.

The Catalan tactician is also said to be interested in Everton's John Stones.
