Man Utd re-sign Paul Pogba
Manchester United have secured the services of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba for a world-record fee. The Frenchman makes his return to Old Trafford after a successful stint in Serie A.
Pogba had been on the Red Devils radar since the start of June with Jose Mourinho highlighting the player as his top target for the transfer window.
The 23-year-old underwent a series of medical tests at United's Carrington base yesterday, and it has been confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday that he has penned a five-year contract with the Mancunian giants.
Pogba becomes the world's most expensive footballer with his £89m transfer fee eclipsing the £85m sum paid for Gareth Bale's switch to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur.
The France international, who previously left United on a Bosman in 2012, won the Scudetto in each of his last four seasons at the Old Lady.
