Man Utd and Chelsea target to sign new AC Milan contract

Teenage star Donnarumma won't be leaving the San Siro any time soon

Chelsea and Manchester United target Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to sign a new contract with AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

According to Sport Mediaset, AC Milan are ready to offer teenage goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma a bumper new contract to ward off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 17-year-old shot stopper made his international debut for Italy last week, coming off the bench to replace 38-year-old legend Gianluigi Buffon at half time of a 3-1 defeat to France.

And last season, the 6 foot 5 inch tall stopper became Milan’s first choice goalkeeper while still only 16.

Donnarumma is seen as a future world class star and has been attracting interest from a host of elite clubs around the continent. Most recently, Premier League pair United and Chelsea have been linked with a potential future move for the youngster.

Milan, who are keen to hold on to Donnarumma long term, have moved to tie the teenager down to a lengthy contract to ensure his future at the Serie A giants.

Donnarumma is a client of super agent Mino Raiola, which gave some credence to the rumours linking the player to the Red Devils, as Raiola brokered mega deals for three of his biggest clients – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – to move to Old Trafford this summer.
