Bournemouth fail with Asmir Begovic bid
Chelsea are reported to have turned down a £10m bid from Bournemouth for backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The Bosnian footballer has been a cup specialist for the Blues with Antonio Conte preferring Thibaut Courtois in the Premier League games.
According to The Mail, the Blues have turned down an opening £10m offer from the Cherries as they seek to make a reasonable profit from the 29-year-old.
Begovic arrived from Stoke City for just £8m in the summer of 2015, but the Premier League leaders are reluctant to offload him for anything less than £13.5m this month.
Eddie Howe's side are on the search for a new shot-stopper who could provide them with added security, and they will probably return with a renewed attempt for Begovic in the coming days.
Despite being 11th in the league standings, Bournemouth have leaked in goals on a regular basis, and hold the fifth worst defensive record in the top flight.
