Chelsea make Asmir Begovic decision
Premier League leaders Chelsea are set to keep hold of Asmir Begovic for the rest of the campaign. The Bosnian will not be leaving for Bournemouth on deadline day after the Blues failed to find a suitable replacement.
Eddie Howe's side were earlier said to have finalized a £10m deal for the 29-year-old with a view that the Blues could recruit a new keeper before the deadline.
Celtic's Craig Gordon has been the preferred option to replace Begovic since the start of the week, but it seems that the Scot will stay put at Parkhead after he verbally agreed on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has recently praised Begovic for his behaviour on and off the pitch, and the former Stoke City man is likely to remain patient until the summer at the least.
Begovic has been a Cup specialist for the Blues this season, earning five appearances in the process. He is likely to be part of the Chelsea matchday squad when they visit Liverpool later tonight.
